Curve card declined for Hungarian cards

As of a month ago my Curve card stopped work for any Hungarian cards.

Hungary has introduced new mandatory system where any online transaction has to be approved in your app (i.e. strong authentication mechanisms) and this seems to have broken Curve card for me cause ever transaction is rejected.

Is anyone else facing such issues? Any ideas how to solve it cause curve support is mostly ignoring my mail and reply that they are “looking” into it

During the verification process the provider (Curve) submitted information that the merchant did not / unable to execute strong customer authentication on their side. According to the corresponding laws our bank declined those transactions. Hi @tygger, thanks for the nudge! I understand this is frustrating for you but I want to assure you that we’re still working to solve this issue as quickly as possible. In the last few weeks, we’ve been in touch with both Mastercard and Erste bank. Mastercard are now working to resolve this with us and have included their compliance team. all hungarian cards work perfectly, except the ones issued by erste bank

probably your card is suspended by curve - there’s no notification about an account block, you can only ask support

Yea - I am using TransferWise as temp solution but it is not an ideal one

Update on this issue: Hungarian Erste Bank now makes it possible to “declare” Curve as a “reliable” merchant and this way 3DS can be avoided. All the Erste card users have to do is to contact the bank.
