Curve Cash Retailers - Change Selection

Signed up to Curve Metal on Friday after learning about Curve from the Monzo Community :+1:

I did not give the best thought when selecting Retailers for Curve Cash, so wondered how to go about changing the original selection?

You’re Currently unable to change your retailers once you’ve chosen them.

There may be future plans to offer changes but they’re now set

Curve is a contradiction unto itself, that’s for sure!

Theoretically, I could make any number of £999 transactions and then after 13 days change my mind and allocate the spend to another underlying card. Yet, make one tiny little miscalculation on your cashback merchants and it’s supposedly set in stone forever.

Thanks for your reply, even though its not what I wanted to hear. In my excitement to sign-up, I must have missed the “selection is cast in stone” warning … I guess its for instances like this that they have cooling off periods.

You should allow changes to be made prior to the 1st use of the card, as I would imagine your customers use the period between placing an order and receiving their card to ‘learn’ up.

Agree I think there should be some sort of messaging in the app when selecting retailers that these can’t be subsequently changed (at present at least).

I understand why you wouldn’t want to allow that happening - otherwise people would change them every minute and get cash on every retailer.

Have you considered allowing a change every 6/12 months? Reason being people move home/change jobs and your preferred supermarket may not be in your new area.

I do relly on your idea. Maybe every year for regular and every 6months or so for black or metal? And also being able to review them somewhere in the app. Do you consider creating an idea in the category of this community, this way we can vote for this kind of idea.

I’ve just created it. Please vote :slight_smile: - Allow changing cashback retailers every 6 or 12 months. Or add them in gradually

As you’ve said the reason we don’t offer this ability to change retailers is so that people don’t try and take advantage of this scheme but your feedback about maybe introducing the choice to change retailers six months or a year into your plan is appreciated and I’m glad to see you’ve added it to the Ideas category to be voted on!

Some discussion re this suggestion previously too @Zac_Curve from back in the Summer…

Definitely something that needs to be considered. I also think for new customers selecting their retailers for the first time it has to be made much clearer that this is (at present) at one-time choice.

I was very excited to sign up to Curve. Then suddenly a list of vendors had appeared I had selected 6 because I wanted to get back to the app seeing what was there. I regretted my decision after reading this thread. Clearly my fault, probably I should have read the terms and conditions. Anyway, a little warning would be nice. Now I just hope eventually there will be an option to change. I can change it for my credit card anytime, so a periodic opportunity here would not hurt.

Best thing to do is Contact support they may allow you to change the retailer’s.

I changed mine a few days ago

They got mad at me for getting too much cash back from a retailer despite the fact that I didn’t ask for it nor can I change the retailer. What a catch 22

Given curves latest tweets, and the fact the new iOS app has “new features” baked in, looks like we might see a way to change retailers!

This feels about as awkward as when Apple tried to tell us all copy+paste coming to iPhone was a revolution, rather than in fact having been an embarrassing, annoying omission…

Much as the cash back changing will be nice, I personally would prefer a properly resourced customer service team that responds in a timely manner.

Annoyingly I was in a rush yesterday and had to swap my payment card over in the app to purchase some goods.

Glimpsed at a pop up asking if I wanted to change my reward vendors…but due to the rush closed it down quickly…now struggling to see where the option is again to change my reward vendors…was this a single hit opportunity to do it?
