Travel insurance- can we cover missed departure

Hi I’ve had to use the AXA travel insurance today which was nice and easy. However it was annoying that missed departures isn’t covered. Could curve look into getting this covered in future?

What coverage are you wanting?

Missed departure

Can you elaborate?

It’s an additional travel insurance option AXA cover if you miss your outbound flight due to traffic or public delays. I know we have cancellation for strikes and adverse events but the missed departure makes it easier to get where you need to go next

Sure, but what sort of additional coverage do you want to have in terms of cash limits, times it kicks in etc.? As already if you’re delayed for more than 24 hours due to a public transport delay than you’re already covered by Curve’s insurance, you can hire a car if your car breaks down in the week before travel etc. etc.

That the cost of changing your flight booking will be covered

What did you claim for and what was nice and easy? :slightly_smiling_face:

Trip cancellation so just got the cost of original flights back and yes it was

Currently you get up to £5k to refund your outbound flights if you’re delayed due to a public transport failure and the airline can’t reschedule your flight within 24 hours. There’s a £50 excess, then you can use the money to buy a replacement flight. Or there’s £500 available if the airline offer to let you change your ticket, but it has to be more than 4 hours from your original one (which could be annoying if you just miss your flights, and there’s another leaving shortly!).

Yeah it’s that annoyance and the fact you only get your original ticket refunded which may be a lot cheaper than any ticket availible to get you where you want to go
